Lol

HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Hehe. I never got into the emo movement. High school made me quite sad, like many other geeky individuals, but I didn't find the need to show it as a style :P

5 for you!

I was about to begin thinking about submitting something to NG, which is also a school project, implies people cutting each other up anime style and uses uncommon 2d art... now I'll have to wait a day or two to avoid totally being in your shadow hehe :P

That's praise by the way :D

LOL

I love the rambling thwomp ^_^

Oooo

Oooo screenshakes!
Add a /stop at the end next time and make your music streaming instead of event, everything else is fine ^^

Uuh...

Alright why, and how, was this a 4.1 meg file?

HOLY CWAP!!!

Holy Crap Five!
Holy Crap Ten!
Holy Crap Fav!

I personally go for the "fake santa's" beard, meaning full unshaved sides and throat but no goatee or stache or cheeks. It's fugly, but at least I'm the only one wearing that shite so I'm recognizable :P

Bobert-Rob responds:

See, you recognize the importance of a unique beard. Sure, it may look like shit, but it's something you won't see everywhere. Originality is important, remember it well and you will survive this rat race called life. Yo. Thanks for the review. Peace.

w00t!

Perfect, except for the Tiki Tiki guy who is slightly out of sync. I don't know what show/flash artist this game from, but a big potato zooming in aggressively while the word "potato" is being repeated made me add this to my favs. You're the only one in there yet, so please feel special ^^

5/5

FrozenSheep responds:

I'm cheery from joy.

I think I know...

The animation made me drool, and my computer almost exploded in the daytime scenes (ya it's getting old), so add yourself another +1 love from me :-D

However, I think I might know why this didn't win. It didn't have sound effects. I know it was meant as a music video, but you'd be surprised how far some low-volume sounds (you don't wanna drown out the music) and some semi-decent-to-professional voice acting (some combat grunts and his last moment before he stances on a building) can go with making your stuff a LOT more memorable when being shown at a contest, to people who have to watch dozens (hypothetical, I wasn't there :P) of those in a row. I'm in now way saying that you have to modify it NOW, but it might have helped you in a contest context. (hehe, I said contest context.)

That said, it seemed like you barely finished half an hour before the deadline so hey, I wasn't in your shoes, and I'll probably never be flash-wise :)

However, I was in cinema class at college, and had one trippy bluescreen filled humoristic ninja movie on my editing shoulders, and the deadline went before I could add the sound effects. With only voice acting and music, even I found it felt quite empty, and we didn't win anything. I'm sure we would have, had I been single at the time (ie: More time for no-lifing on the editing :P)
So yeah, I'm kinda speaking from semi-experience there :D

Well, have nice 3 month couch time, you probably do need it :D

Oh yeah, 5/5 10/10

Hehe

Lol the plot thickens :D
More please. Lots.

Erm...

My intuition tells me that you can't really have copyrights on a story that's basically a big crossover fanfic of already established elements that do not belong to you. You'd have to, like, invent fictional consoles and characters for it to work, or get Nintendo, Sega and all the others to give you their permission, which ain't really likely. That or if you ever write the book, you could mention 'video game characters' without specifying any name.

As for the flash, well, the story black text in the beginning could do without tweening diagonnally right, as it makes some parts go past the screen. It could also do with a compressed version of that text, to not keep people waiting for 2 full minutes reading it.
Also, although I have no idea how hard it was to get those sprites and/or make this flash, I believe you could work a bit harder on the animation. Set it to something like 20 frames/second in MODIFY>MOVIE (It's still that, right?) to make it smoother, and try to include more movement.
Watch the big sprite movie guys for inspiration, analyse what they did frame by frame. If you are intimidated by Super Mario Bros Z and the like, you could always look at older entries, like VGDC's Mario vs Sonic. It's a little bit less animated, but it still rocks.

What sucks is that had you submitted this like 7-8 years ago, you would have gotten much higher reviews than now. Remember that your flash is being compared with every other sprite movie on NG, sadly.

Don't give up.

Go to my website. It's not excruciatingly bad.
